How do you get involved?
Well simply use the link below and send a message to our New Members liaison Officer and they’ll arrange to meet up with you. The have a go session will lead by an instructor, they will organise qualified divers to take you underwater or simple swim around on the surface. You will be supervised at all times by qualified instructors, with a maximum of two persons per qualified diver / Snorkeller, so you will be well looked after.
The lead instructor will briefly explain how the scuba unit works,(if Scuba Diving), brief you on the very simple safety rules for whether doing Snorkelling or using scuba unit, and then lead you into the water.
You will progress in small steps at a rate comfortable to your personal level of confidence, but by the end of the session, we aim to get you swimming around underwater. You will be shown one or two of the skills that form the basis of all Diver and Snorkel Training Programs, but at this stage you won’t be expected or allowed to try then out. You will be able to feel free and weightless in the water and play games.
After the session you’ll be invited to join us for a drink at our local pub, sorry you do need to be over 16yrs for this where, if you are interested, our New Members Liaison Officer will explain more about us and about learning to snorkel or scuba dive.
